About
Many pharmacies, whether corporate or independent, just focus on churning out prescriptions and offering new services, failing to think about how interaction with the Pharmacy impacts patient lives.
At Garner Family Pharmacy, we have a passion to relieve stress for our patients, to take care of their needs through personal and proactive care, convenient access to their medications, and by knowing they can trust their medical professionals.
When patients or caretakers interact with Garner Family Pharmacy, we want them to know they matter, that they are in good hands, and that we are helping them live longer, healthier, happier lives.
To challenge the status quo and change expectations for what it means to work with a pharmacist
To simplify the lives of patients and caretakers, so that their lives do not have to revolve around their healthcare
To empower patients with a better understanding of their care and how important their medications are, including how to get the best out of their medications

Matt Garner
Matt grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Before attending UAMS College of Pharmacy, Matt spent his childhood attending Jonesboro Public Schools and was very proud to represent THE Jonesboro Hurricane on the basketball court and in the swimming pool. He still has a deep seeded love for his time playing for legendary coach Barry Pruitt, and leading the Hurricane in 2006 to their first State Finals appearance in over a decade.
Following graduation from JHS, Matt attended Missouri State University – West Plains for 1 year and then Harding University to continue his basketball career. He then moved back to Jonesboro for a short time and worked for First United Methodist Church and was introduced by one of the pastors to the love of his life, Rebekah. He credits that time while working a day job, volunteer coaching elementary basketball for Jonesboro Public Schools, and dating Rebekah; as the time that allowed him to discover the path that lead him to pharmacy.
During pharmacy school, Matt worked at Walgreens and was very involved inside as well as outside the classroom. He graduated with Honors in Experiential Education. He was awarded the APhA – ASP Student Pharmacist of the Year for UAMS and was a member of the Good Neighbor Pharmacy-NCPA National Championship winning business plan team from UAMS.
After finishing pharmacy school, Matt worked for Cornerstone Pharmacy in North Little Rock and Conway, Arkansas. Since before he was officially licensed as a pharmacist, Matt stayed active in the profession by being a co-Host of the pharmacy podcast The Hog Pharm. Matt currently serves as a preceptor of first year and fourth year pharmacy students for UAMS and Harding College of Pharmacy.
Matt has always had a passion for healthcare and an even deeper passion for his hometown of Jonesboro. Matt, Rebekah and their daughter Eleanor are so happy about moving home to Jonesboro; and Matt is especially excited to be able to serve the community that helped raise him.
